FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO I NEED A PHYSICIAN'S REFERRAL?
In California you do not need a Physician's referral to see a Physical Therapist. California has had direct access since 2014. Physical Therapists are trained to know their limitations and if you are not showing improvement or present with an issue out of our scope of practice, you will need to be referred to the right person to get the help you need. With that being said, I will require a Physician referral after 12 visits or 45 days, whichever comes first.
DO I NEED TO PROVIDE EQUIPMENT?
No. I will bring a treatment table and any manual therapy tools necessary to your visit as well as exercise equipment. All equipment will be cleaned before and after each visit. Furthermore, it is best to have a large space such as a garage, backyard or bigger living area to set up my treatment table.
DOES THE PHYSICAL THERAPY OR WELLNESS CARE NEED TO BE IN MY HOME?
No. Although I usually complete sessions in the home setting, if you have goals to get back to a sport or want to be more confident walking around your neighborhood park or beach, I am happy to meet you there.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
The short answer is no as this is a "cash based" company, however for some insurances I can provide you with a SuperBill that you can submit to your insurance company. This is not applicable for all insurances. Please contact me for more information.
WHY GO A CASH BASED ROUTE WHEN I COULD USE INSURANCE SOMEWHERE ELSE?
Patients who go a cash pay route tend to need less visits than insurance-based care. This is because with cash pay you typically get more 1 on 1 time. You will have my undivided attention for the entire session. With Stay Fit Physical Therapy you will only be seeing me- no passing to assistants or aids providing you with the highest quality of continuity of care. Finally, less drive time as I will come to you for convenience-no headaches!
